Princess Crown Cookies
Some sparkly princess crowns for a certain little princess turning 5. I helped provide some take-home treats.
There was a bit of a cookie crisis when my royal icing decided to turn into sticky marshmallow fluff instead of drying and hardening. I was panicking. This happens to me very rarely, but it was humid the night I decorated them. I'm thinking that was the culprit.
I went ahead and dusted them with pearl dust and adored the way they sparkled. I think I may be obsessed with the stuff now. But there is still a fine haze of sparkles floating around our kitchen. And even after I showered, I am still shimmery.
The pearl dust actually helped and made it possible to bag them. It ended up working out and they ended up staying cute. I was worried!

Teacher Retirement Party Cookies
As if I didn't already have enough to do, I completely and willingly took a cookie order. Even with all I had going on, I still had fun making these. While I was tinting my icing this time, I used some different colors to achieve my pencil colors and felt like it was touch and go for awhile. I wasn't sure how close to actual pencil color they were, so this morning I grabbed a number 2 pencil to compare. And crazy as it seems, it was spot on! Lucky, lucky...

Thank You Cameras!
These are a couple of cookies I made for our photographer, who just took our family pictures! Cute! And easy!
Winter Candy Land Cookies
I am starting to get ready for Mitchell's birthday party. I decided to get the cookies finished and in the freezer. One less thing to worry about next week! I had a black icing issue around 1 a.m. I had to re-ice the penguins. Argh! But I got it fixed and am happy with the final result. And talk about fine details on the snowflakes. Hand cramps! I think his party is going to be so cute! Looking forward to getting everything together and decorated.
